Below is a brief overview of the types of basic self-clinching fasteners available. A self-clinching feature can be incorporated into a wide array of fastener types combining a diverse range of fastener functionality with the benefits of a self-clinching product. Some unthreaded fasteners have plain circular displacers as they are not subject to torsional loading and therefore do not require an anti-rotation feature.
